Rooibos tea, or redbush tea , is a tea brewed from the South African Rooibos plant  (Aspalathus linearis). The leaves of the redbush plant are used to make a beautiful herbal tea which has been consumed in Southern Africa for generations, and is now popular all over the world.

What does rooibos tea taste like?


The tea formed by the rooibos tea leaves is usually dark red and smokey, providing a deliciously deep brew that can be consumed plain, with milk, or with lemon and sugar. Is rooibos tea good for you?


What is amazing about rooibos tea is that it is naturally caffeine free, and full of antioxidants and flavonoids, providing fantastic health benefits to those who drink it. If you are wondering where to buy rooibos tea, then you are in luck. Nowadays redbush tea bags and loose leaf rooibos leaves can be bought in almost all major supermarkets. There are many rooibos tea brands, each with different recommended ways of consuming them (we think the best rooibos is drunk plain without adding anything).

What are the side effects of rooibos tea?


There aren’t any negative side effects of drinking redbush tea! Rooibos has plenty of good properties,  and it seems that it is one of those wonders of the world that is ONLY good for you.

Is rooibos tea good for weight loss?


While redbush tea will make you generally healthy, there is little evidence that it has a direct effect of weight loss.

Rooibos tea and pregnancy?


Rooibos tea can be consumed while pregnant due to it being caffeine free, and due to its powerful antioxidant properties it may even be recommended to drink it during pregnancy.
